From its beginning in April of 2003, Pergamos Ministries has always had the single intention of providing accurate, understandable, unbiased Biblical information to those who needed that knowledge. We aspire to meet the impossibly high standards that the Lord would certainly have set for such an effort. That includes complying with all Laws, as well as the many Christian characteristics of thought and behavior.
The United States Copyright Law, Title 17 of the United States Code, Circular 92, Chapter 1, §107. states:
... the fair use of a copyrighted work ... for purposes such as ... teaching ..., scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright. ... for nonprofit educational purposes;
Pergamos Ministries, is a not-for-profit corporation based in Oregon. Specifically, Pergamos Ministries has received a GRAND TOTAL GROSS receipts of exactly $0.00. Dene McGriff, the creator of Pergamos Ministries, Doug Krieger, Barbara Kirchhoff, and Guy Mitts, the creator of “The Tribulation Network” web site, have also received a grand total remuneration of $0.00. That is the ULTIMATE in non-profit!
Pergamos ministries has asked for and has received permission for every piece of copyrighted material on this web site, where-ever possible, we have also complied with all demands for use of such copyrighted material. In some cases where certain material was presented as “FREE” for personal use, it was accepted as is. It turns out that the Fair Use Provision actually made all those permissions unnecessary!
We still strive to give acknowledgement of other peoples work. If there is
any conflict with a copyrighted material, such would be the case where some web
site whose claim of copyright on a piece of material was actually invalid, AND
the original copyright holder wishes to be recognized for the work they have
identified on our web site, they should:
1) Clearly identify the specific work that they wish to be
acknowledged as theirs,
2) Provide proof of copyright ownership, and
3) Their requested authorship to the copyrighted piece of
work.
We fully respect the producers of any copyrighted material and have an earnest desire to refer people to the correct producers of any copyrighted work so as to get their own permissions for their endeavors.
The Fair Use Provision of the US Copyright Law clearly applies to Pergamos Ministries, and we have the legal right to use all the material in PERGAMOS MINISTRIES.
NOTE: A visitor to Pergamos Ministries can obviously not use any such an article or Art-Work in any profit-making manner, without obtaining Copyright permission from the original copyright holder, but reading, studying and learning from them are completely allowed by the Fair Use Provision.
