DEVIL TO GOVERN OUR DESTINY”

The above entitlement occurred on “Larry King Live” – June 16, 2006 – from the Socialist-Liberal wing of Israel’s current Kadima Party—Shimon Peres.  Perhaps it comes as a rhetorical shock to most of absolute persuasion; yet, did not the atheist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre with the backdrop of World War II’s carnage and the Cold War write more about EVIL than any other philosopher of the 20th Century?  Indeed he did.

Echoing America’s War on Terror, Israel’s PM Ehud Olmert rallied the Israelis in a fiery message to the Knesset:

“We are at a national moment of truth. Will we consent to living under the threat of this Axis of Evil or will we mobilize our inner strength and show determination and equanimity?

 

“The campaign we are engaged in these days is against the terror organizations operating from Lebanon and Gaza. These organizations are nothing but ‘sub-contractors’ operating under the inspiration, permission, instigation and financing of the terror-sponsoring and peace-rejecting regimes, on the Axis of Evil which stretches from Tehran to Damascus.”

 

Olmert did not equivocate:

“Iran and Syria still continue to meddle, from afar, in the affairs of
Lebanon and the Palestinian Authority, through Hezbollah and the Hamas.”

 

In point of philosophical fact, Sartre clearly equated the Devil with Evil!

 

Likewise does Teheran and Damascus equate both Israel and the US with the Great Satan (the Devil) and Evil (the Evil One):

 

“The protestors (in Iran) burned the flags of ‘Little Satan’ (Israel) and ‘Big Satan’ (United States) and called for both Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and President George Bush to be put on trial.

 

“The procession begun after Friday's prayers in the mosques, and leading it was none other than Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who warned of an ‘explosion’ in the Islamic world directed at ‘Israel and its Western supporters,’ following the IDF operation in Gaza.”

 

Demonizing the AXIS OF EVIL is old hat when it comes to Bush & Co.—but now it’s Israel’s turn to chime in on the rhetoric.

 

“Iran is arming itself with nuclear weapons right now and with the long-range rockets, long-range rockets that far exceed Israel and ultimately are destined to reach the Eastern Seaboard of the United States.  You’re the great Satan. We’re just merely your little brother here. We’re the little Satan. And Europe, though it doesn’t know it, is the middle-sized Satan.” (Benjamin Netanyahu, former PM of Israel, Hannity & Colmes, Fox News, July 18, 2006)

 

LIVE FROM MECCA – DEATH TO THE GREAT SATAN!

 

Why  is it that Hezbollah “liberators” are putting up such horrific resistance—even in south Lebanon—against the overwhelming military might of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) . . . driving Israel into a full-scale invasion of Lebanon (July 21, 2006)?  Because they are propelled by a “divine edict” that is irrepressible . . . the following are excerpts from a rally of Iranian pilgrims in Mecca, aired on Iran’s Channel 1 and Al-‘Alam TV, on January 9, 2006—the speaker addresses the crowd in front of a back drop showing the World Trade Center and an American flag in flames:

 

“‘Today, the impure world Zionism, in the modern Age of Ignorance, has emerged with the same [polytheistic] ideology, but with new methods. It wants to take over the fields of economy, of culture, and politics, as well as the military, throughout the world.’ [...] ‘We, the pilgrims who have come to the house of God, condemn the plots and the measures taken by the international Zionism - the deceitful Satan who spreads heresy, polytheism, and idolatry, enslaving human beings with a new method. It abuses the divine religion of Moses. It takes satanic measures, and arouses the world's hatred towards this divine religion and its true followers (i.e., against Islam). We denounce these criminal acts. We call upon the world of Islam and the free peoples to take significant measures to thwart the satanic policy of this camp."

 

 

Islam’s quest to defeat America in all manner of deliberations is irrevocable—there’s a reason for strapping explosives about one’s body and making nuclear weapons!  There is a reason why the goose steeping “Sieg Heil” imagery always appears overwhelming!  The WILL is greater than the sum of its parts . . . reason is not a part of their calculation.

 

 

 

“We, the pilgrims who have come to the house of God, strongly condemn the aggressive measures of ‘the global arrogance,’ led by the idol and center of evil, the criminal America. We condemn it for its aggression, warmongering, its murder, plundering, torture, espionage, its abductions, and its secret jails. We strongly condemn it. We emphasize that the occupation forces must leave the lands of Islam. We express our hatred and our disgust at the mother of all corruption of this century, the Great Satan, and at its illegitimate offspring, the plundering Israel.” (MEMRI, 11 January 2006)

 

 

DEATH AND DESTRUCTION

 

Satan’s cover was blown centuries ago—“death and destruction” is unalterably linked to the “father of lies” – whose deceits and dissuasions are recognized by atheist, rhetorical communicator, and believer alike—bottom-line:  “He was a murderer from the beginning . . . and there is no truth in him . . . he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it” (John 8:44).

 

The only issue surviving this mayhem:  Just who is the Great Satan?  And, is he really America, Israel, Islam et al?  The “blame game” and the one-upmanship that accompanies the international rhetoric appear in the eye of the beholder.

 

But the FATHER OF LIES in so far as the current conflict in the Middle
East is concerned has arranged a tangled web of deceit and, consequently, highfalutin, propagandistic verbiage to justify bashing the “enemy” –

 

So . . . from the American Left we hear:

 

“Maybe Israel ‘didn't start this one’, but through their outrageously grotesque response they’ve proven themselves equal partners in the madness. It is time for the American people to realize Israel is not the only ‘victim’ in the Middle East madness. There are millions of innocent Palestinians and now, too, Lebanese that have equal claim to the sad title of victim.” (Israel Not the Only Victim, The Progressive Daily, July 21, 2006).

 

. . . and from the Neo-Con Right we hear:

 

“In another Standard article, titled ‘The Rogues Strike Back: Iran, Syria, Hamas, and Hezbollah vs. Israel,’ Robert Satloff, executive director of the hawkish, pro-Israel Washington Institute for Near East Policy, argued that ‘defeat for Israel -- either on the battlefield or via coerced compromises to achieve flawed ceasefires -- is a defeat for U.S. interests; it will inspire radicals of every stripe, release Iran and Syria to spread more mayhem inside Iraq, and make more likely our own eventual confrontation with this emboldened alliance of extremists.’” (Neo-Con Redux, Blame Iran, Back Israel, Jim Lobe, Monthly Review, July 24, 2006)

 

 

FREEZING THE STATUS QUO ANTE IS NOT AN OPTION

 

Condi Rice, US Secretary of State, at a State Department briefing (July 21, 2006) reiterated the standard US position on the current conflict:  No compromise, no negotiation with Hezbollah (a.k.a., “terrorist organizations”), and, for that matter, asserts that the USA will not tolerate any cessation of hostilities—regardless of the international outcry to stop the fighting as long as Hezbollah—or Hamas—holds captured Israeli soldiers and constitutes a threat to Israel.  In sum:  Hezbollah must be destroyed and the “root cause” of terrorism in the Middle East (i.e., the Axis of Evil:  Syria and Iran) must be excised!

 

To say that the “Great Satan” is not somehow encouraging Israel to change, once and for all, the status quo ante is absurd.

 

Israel’s UN Ambassador Dan Gellerman, again on July 21, 2006, at a Security Council airing of the crisis, said Israel would not cease its “defensive efforts” until the following takes place:

 

(1)  The release of the three Israeli IDF soldiers.

(2)  Disarming of Hezbollah and . . .

(3)  The “honoring of UN Resolution 1559” which demands that the    Lebanese State take full control of its southern border.

 

Israel is now intent on the abolition of Hezbollah!

 

One million Israelis are in bomb shelters, hundreds of rockets are randomly exploding throughout northern Israel—this is NOT an “unsophisticated” enemy, but one fully calibrated with the Iranian military

 

Lebanese UN Special Envoy Nouhad Mahmoud claims that “Israel is betting on its excessive force” (pending invasion) to subdue Lebanese forces (including Amal, the Lebanese Army, and Hezbollah).

 

Mahmoud rehearsed the Israeli incursions of Lebanon in 1978, 1982, 1993, and 1996 and mentioned nothing of Hezbollah’s incitement of Israel; instead, he renounced “Israeli murderous aggression” in counter distinction to Lebanon’s beneficence (which Israel fails to emulate).

 

After the initial outrage against Hezbollah, “moderate Arab” states have commenced in earnest (both the street and governments) to speak out against what they consider “disproportionate” response—and on behalf of Lebanon (in particular, Egypt).

 

Ambassadors from Qatar (Nassir Aldulaziz Al-Nasser) and Saudi Arabia (Fawzi Shobokshi) at the same aforementioned Security Council meeting chided Israel’s illegal occupation of Arab land as the “root cause” (not Hezbollah) of the growing conflict and held Israel fully responsible for “all destruction.” 

 

“The road to hell is paved with good intentions . . . it is easy to open the gates of hell and hard to close them” – to Qatar and Saudi Arabia (USA allies) there’s a “bloodbath in Lebanon” caused by Israel – but nothing of Hezbollah’s actions in Israel is mentioned.

 

So . . . how will the status quo ante be altered?

 

 

THE PRINCE OF PERSIA WITHSTOOD ME . . . I MUST RETURN TO FIGHT WITH THE PRINCE OF PERSIA (Daniel 10:13, 20)

 

At this intercept—we’re going to get BIBLICAL on you, so hang in there; you’ll see, this is the only thing that makes any sense!

 

Michael, “one of the chief princes” – the archangel of Israel “who stands watch over the sons of your people” (Daniel 12:1) – is all too familiar with the Prince of Persia, having struggled with this “principality” nigh “21 days” inhibiting Michael’s revelations of the “end of days” and, as well, their sealed meanings to the generation awaiting Messiah’s ultimate deliverance.  Michael was chosen as the instrument of divine confrontation with the “principalities and powers in high places” (Ephesians 6:12) to permit the Archangel Gabriel to “make this man (Daniel) understand the vision” (Daniel 8:16b).

 

It was the express purpose and verbal confirmation of Michael waging spiritual battle in order that what was “noted in the Scripture of Truth” – for “no one (Michael) upholds me against these (the princes of Persia and Greece) except Michael your prince”. . . “I, even I (Michael speaking), stood up to confirm and strengthen him (Daniel)” (Daniel 10:21; 11:1).  Thus, was made known to Daniel the Prophet the immediate and latter-day vision concerning his people, Israel; and, I hasten to add, concerning the Gentile World Powers and their manipulation by the “Despicable One!”

 

Behind the revelations of the principalities are the earthly princes of Persia and Greece (in particular King Darius of Persia and Alexander the Great) – between, at the time, the protagonists of the West (Greece) vs. the “kings of Persia” (the East) is the veiled allusion to one whose sinister motivations are echoed throughout the Scripture of Truth—and reverberate to the present, having a former and latter-day application:

 

“I saw the ram (Persia) pushing westward, northward, and southward, so that no animal could withstand him; nor was there any that could deliver from his hand, but he did according to his will and became great . . .

 

“And as I (Daniel) was considering, suddenly a male goat (Greece) came from the West, across the surface of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the goat had a notable horn (an awesome authority) between his eyes.  Then he came to the ram that had two horns (Medes and Persians) . . . and ran at him with furious power . . . and I saw him confronting the ram; he was moved with rage against him, attacked the ram, and broke his two horns.  There was no power in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled him; and there was no one that could deliver the ram from his hand . . .

 

“Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken (Alexander the Great), and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven (the four Hellenic Kingdoms of Thrace, Macedonia, Ptolemaic, and the Seleucid Kingdom from whence Antiochus Epiphanes IV, the younger horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land” is revealed – Daniel 8:9).

 

These Scriptures which depict the Two-Horned Persian Ram colliding with the Notable-Horned Grecian He-Goat, epitomize the ancient struggle between Persia and the West which inevitably leads to the West’s infatuation with the “Glorious Land” (the land of Israel) . . .

 

But the aforementioned “veiled allusion” witnessed initially within the Ram who “did according to his will and became great” (Daniel 8:4b) – was superceded by the Notable-Horned He-Goat who, with furious power, confronted, raged against, attacked, and broke his two horns!  This He-Goat, if you would, inherited the same inscrutable drive—whereof it is said:

 

“Then a mighty king shall arise (Alexander the Great) who shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will” (Daniel 11:3).

  

That predominant WILL within Antiochus Epiphanes (archetype of the future and latter-day Antichrist) is duly noted:

 

“But he who comes against him shall do according to his own will, and no one shall stand against him.  He shall stand in the Glorious Land with destruction in his power . . . he shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones (Or “bring equitable terms”) with him; thus shall he do” (Daniel 11:16-17).

 

The ancient military intrigues and machinations recorded in Daniel 11 between Antiochus Epiphanes IV and the ambiguous antecedents of two to three entities (King of the North, King of the South, and the Willful King) climax in Daniel 11:35-36 as all ambiguity to the future Antichrist is stripped away:

 

“And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time . . . THEN the king shall do according to his own will:  he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.”

 

Be it fully understood:  Is this not the same articulation and satanic descript recorded of and by the Embodiment of Evil, attested to by Isaiah’s record?

 

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!  How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!

“For you have said in your heart:  I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:12-14)

 

. . . whose abysmal conclusions suffice the divine edict?

 

“Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.  Those who see you will gaze at you, and consider you, saying:  ‘Is this the man (the final incarnation of the Man of Sin, the Antichrist) who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms (as of today!), who made the world as a wilderness and destroyed its cities, who did not open the house of his prisoners?  . . . Indeed read on of his despicable pursuits and the finality of his abomination! (Isaiah 16:12-21)

 

 

THE TIMING OF GABRIEL’S PRONOUNCEMENTS

 

The Archangels Michael and Gabriel – the one to contest – the other to reveal (for divine insight’s course comes through great trial, tribulation, and spiritual warfare), was sent to interpret and expand upon the visions of Daniel.  These visions are ensconced in the style of the Hebraic prophets—with both a “former” and “latter-day” implication and fulfillment.

 

“Gabriel, make this man understand the vision . . . so he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid and fell on my face; but he said to me, ‘Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end . . . Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be’. . . Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering.  And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, ‘O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand . . . consider the matter, and understand the vision’” (Daniel 8:16b, 17, 19; 9:21-23).

 

It is at this epiphanous juncture Gabriel reveals one of the most astounding disclosures of prophetic writ:  THE VISION OF THE SEVENTY WEEKS.  In particular the specificity of Messiah’s crucifixion (cutting off); the destruction of the Herodian Temple (70 A.D.), and the latter-day “Coming Prince” who shall at the commencement of Daniel’s 70th Week “confirm a  covenant with many” (Israel) for one week (the 70th Week); but in the middle of the week he (Antichrist—not the true Messiah, but the Anti-Messiah) shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering, and on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate (the Beast) even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate” (Daniel 9:27).

 

Swirling throughout Daniel’s visions is the immediate and final confrontation of the ages—to deny this, you do so at your “biblical peril!”  There is a prototype of the Antichrist seen in Antiochus Epiphanes IV—even so, there will be an end-of-days rise of the Antichrist.

 

Simply put—this, what you are witnessing in the Middle East today, replicates the initial vision of Daniel, while Gabriel’s “I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be” (Daniel 8:19) immediately confronts us all!

 

 

THE PROPHETIC SCENARIO

 

Once again, the Alexandrian West contends with the Persian East—while the Glorious Land awaits the presence and subterfuge of the Willful King, the Coming Prince.

 

The disturbing skirmish taking place in Lebanon and Gaza (the stronghold of Ephraim) have been discussed at length in our other writings; however, in sum—be aware of the following:

 

(1)  The “Levant Confrontation” and the Gaza-Stronghold of Ephraim’s demise, as outlined in the Gog-Magog Scenario, precipitates the ultimate contestation between the forces of Gog/Prince of Persia and the Willful King (the West).  It appears that this conflict is primarily between the forces of Israel vs. Syria (Damascus) and those allied with Damascus (Lebanon et al, Gaza, and the stronghold of Ephraim).  (Please read Isaiah 17-18)

 

(2)  The actual Gog-Magog conflagration and those allied together against the “forces of Antichrist” now domiciled or fully entrenched in the “Glorious-Beautiful Land” are utterly allied with Israel’s “War Machine.”  AFTER the aforementioned “Levant Confrontation” (this would also include the immediate takeover of ancient Babylon (Iraq) by modern-day Babylon) these allies (the West and Israel) will confront both the King of the North/Gog (primarily Persia and Turkey) and Gog’s allies, the King of the South (primarily Egypt, Libya, and Ethiopia (ancient Cush or today’s Sudan)).

 

NOTE:  Watch Turkey and Egypt—Israel and the West’s Leadership—these four are pivotal in the Gog-Magog Scenario; and, yes—the conflict will be between the “Judeo-Christian West” and “Islam” – as much as one would consider this an implausible and unlikely happenstance!

 

NOTE:  According to the Gog-Magog “constellation of modern nations” aligned with the MERCHANTS OF TARSHISH (Ezekiel 38:13) in opposition to those nations aligned with Gog, are:

 

a. Jordan (Daniel 11:41—Edom, Moab, Ammon)

b. Nations of the Arabian Peninsula and Gulf States (Sheba and Dedan) of Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the Gulf States, including Kuwait and Oman, U.A.E., Qatar, etc.

c. Iraq (for Babylon is conspicuously absent from Gog’s configurations)

d. “The West” (and, in particular, the English-speaking West) – the “young lions” (Ezekiel 12-13).

 

(3)  “Your Treaty with Death, Your Agreement with Hell (Sheol)” – it is either immediately prior to or immediately after the Gog-Magog conflagration that Israel’s government will accept an ultimatum—make a covenant or CONFIRM A SEVEN-YEAR AGREEMENT with her protector, the Anti-Messiah (for he is no true Deliverer).

 

(4)  The Commencement of the 70th Week of Daniel ushers in the 70th Week of Daniel’s prophecy given by the Archangel Gabriel.

 

(5)  The entire 70th Week of Daniel ushers in the ARMAGEDDON CAMPAIGN (for it is a worldwide conflagration initially set off by the “Levant Confrontations” and assuredly introduced by the Gog-Magog Scenario)—which lasts for a full seven years (Please see Daniel 11:40-45 which confirms the initial outburst of the Antichrist in the Glorious Land; the contest against Gog (Egypt, Libyans, Cush); and the ultimate on-going “death and destruction” launched by Antichrist against “news from the east and the ‘far’ north (which) shall trouble him (Antichrist)” . . . “therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many” while at the same time “plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain” utterly occupying and ultimately, through breaking his covenant, subjugate Israel.

 

PERES’S PROPHETIC PRONOUNCEMENT!

 

At the beginning of this article, Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres, uttered a most profound announcement:  WE WILL NOT PERMIT THE DEVIL TO GOVERN OUR DESTINY!  You may wish to construe whatever you desire from his lips to your ears, but the words were said—spoken accidentally, with anger, with prophetic grist, or all of the above?  Remember, if the Almighty could speak through Balaam’s Ass, He can speak through anyone!

 

His, if you would, two-edged jab against the enemies of Israel (Hezbollah-Iran; Hamas-Syria et al) is one thing—but, as we all know too well:  The DEVIL is in the details!  On the one hand Israel’s immediate EVIL is out and about; on the other hand, her ultimate EVIL comes bearing gifts and assurance. 

 

Deception is precisely what it is—and that is the modus operandi of Michael’s nemesis.  What galls is the nigh total American ignorance—both mental-physical and spiritual—regarding their complicity in the “Armageddon Scenario” now facing the world:  ESPECIALLY THE AMERICAN WORLD!

 

Make no doubt about it—catcalls from the West-Israel, and the Prince of Persia (the latter-day outrage of the “kingdom divided”)—displays a panoply of EVIL, SATAN, the DEVIL, and the ANTICHRIST.  The Man of Sin awaits his full manifestation “out there” – and EVERYONE knows and expresses it in their own inimical fashion.  Behind Alexander the Great was the Prince of Grecia, and behind the Prince of Grecia the Prince and Power of the Air!

 

Frankly, my preferences are clearly known and delineated:  WAR IS HELL!  And, the one behind it all is clearly known by the multitude of his titles.  No, the atheists like Sartre, the socialists like Peres, etc., etc., may not embrace the full theological implication of divine intervention into the affairs of we humans—but they are abundantly clear when it comes to the EVIL ONE and the DEVIL himself!

 

May I leave you with this immediate observation and Daniel’s desperate exacerbation?

 

“Although I heard, I did not understand.  Then I said, ‘My lord, what shall be the end of these tings?’  And he said, ‘Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end (that’s how we know what Daniel saw was “yet future”).  Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of he wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand” (Daniel 12:8-10).

 

Friend or foe—remember this, not even Daniel knew; but the age has changed . . . we all know that “something’s up” and that somehow we’re not just spectators witnessing the beginnings of Newt Ginrich’s World War III.  No, somehow we all know we’re intimately involved . . . heading for Armageddon while yelling, screaming, or denying to our grave that this has something or nothing to do with the so-called “real world.”  Deep inside you know—just like Satre, Peres, infidel or believer knows.  Daniel did not have a “need to know” – I believe we do . . . that’s why we “look up, for our redemption draws nigh” (Luke 21:28).

 

Now, as these despicable acts unfold—as Israel prepares for a full-scale invasion of Hezbollah-Lebanon, and as both Syria and Iran prepare to respond, we are reminded:

 

“And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their fullness, a king shall arise, having fierce features (countenance), who understands sinister schemes (i.e., the Antichrist).  His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; he shall destroy extraordinarily and shall prosper and thrive; he shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.  Through his cunning he shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; and he shall exalt himself in his heart.  He shall destroy many in their prosperity.  He shall even rise against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without human means” (Daniel 8:23-25).

 

But . . . even King Nebuchadnezzar ultimately confessed:

 

“For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end.  He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth” (Daniel 6:26b-27a).
