Ten Harbingers of the End of the Present World Order

 “The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with VIOLENCE…So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth…And God said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with VIOLENCE through THEM!” (Genesis 6:11-13)

Recently, a self-deluded soul commented on one of my articles at World Mysteries that I was an “unbalanced” (sic. “imbalanced” – for I am not in need of a psychiatrist...although my wife may think otherwise) person because, among other things, I appealed to the Highest Authority regarding my article on Three Prophetic Wars…while all hell breaks out (again) in the Middle East – including Syria, Iraq and the bizarre happenings known as the “Arab Spring”…to say nothing of Israel and Iran breathing down each other’s throats – including the US movin’ and shakin’ all over the region rattling its sabers big time, along with Russia and in the background, China…and those consarn “War-Games” – what a misnomer if there ever were one!

This person wanted to know when I was going to awaken to “a rational sane world” apparently void of the greatest fraud in the universe:  Religion!  I figured this person left out “scientific” as in wake up to a “rational, sane and scientific world” – I’m throwing that one in because tragedies come in threes!  Meanwhile, not to disappoint, I go skipping down the yellow brick road singing Scarecrow’s ditty from the Wizard of Oz:  “If I only had a brain!” 

My retort to this enlightened soul was to challenge him as I did all my students:  “Now class, we all know how to spell the word ASSUME – right?”  Rational and sane?  A rather quantum leap beyond assumption, I’d say.

The next day the massacre (forget this business about “shooting”) took place in the Century Theater in Aurora, Colorado – thirteen miles from the Columbine massacre and five miles from where I used to live. 

No, we’re not living in a rational and sane world…but doesn’t it sound nice to hear the fine expressions of “love and oneness” – “happiness and understanding” – “can’t we all just get along” – you know, the RATIONAL efforts from the Neville Chamberlains over the “warmongers” like Winston Churchill (who never found a war he didn’t like) and now Benjamin Netanyahu over the sane remarks of, let’s say, a Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

Folks – for the past 40-post-modern years we have “sown to the wind and we shall reap the whirlwind” (Hosea 8:7).  This insanity and these multiple massacres have everything to do with the culture of death we have fostered and the glorification of violence on every hand.  A culture of excessive toleration – of a “middle ground” which is neither hot nor cold – right or wrong – good or bad – up or down – in or out – evil or righteous – a feel-good generation demanding “whatever floats your boat” – oozing with an out of control relativism.  So, dare you damn those Aztecs for tearing out thousands of human hearts in sacrifice to their gods using religion to keep the locals in check…after all, it was only a “cultural expression” – can’t say as I blame them, after all, they were “doin’ a’what comes naturally!” (another little insane ditty of a tune).

The TRUTH OF THE MATTER stared England straight in the face – and with righteous indignation they offered up Czechoslovakia as if it mattered nothing to cover their own butts – and then had Chamberlain turn around with a cheap, dirty, little, rotten piece of paper in hand declaring “Herr” Hitler a man of his word!  PEACE IN OUR TIME.

I don’t know what’s worse:  The “Peace in Our Time” creeps or the “sane and rational world” idiots – a pox on both their houses!  What about this:

“This is the Captain speaking:  That scraping sound you just heard/felt has just ripped open the entire bottom of this Love Boat once known as the Costa Concordia.  The reason why all the furniture, dishes and anything not tied down (including yourself) are sliding across the deck/rooms at a precipitous list means the ship is about to turn upside down and drown us all.  The lights either went out or are flickering and will go out altogether – and very shortly.  Sorry I never gave you proper instructions on how to bail out of this mess – IT’S TIME TO TOTALLY PANIC – grab a life jacket (if you can find one in the dark) and get off this piece of junk because it’s goin’ down big time and everyone who says differently is a fool – BAIL – EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF!”  Shortly thereafter the captain accidentally fell into a lifeboat.

No, instead we either hear nothing or we hear:  “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls:  There’s no need to panic – we have a slight electrical problem and the ship will shortly ‘right up’ due to our sterling balancing system worth millions.  This is our maiden voyage and we have taken all precautions – after all, you paid big bucks for this unforgettable experience – you certainly could say:  ‘This is destined to be one hell-of-a-voyage!’  Just continue as you were as if nothing has happened – hey, strike up the band – ‘we’ll have a barrel of fun’ … or was it:  ‘Roll out the barrel, we’ll have a barrel of fun…we’ve got them blues on the run (famous hit tune played by the band as the Titanic, another maiden voyage of the unsinkable, commenced to entomb 1,517 souls into a frigid grave).”

The extremity of the situation has come to this – massacre after massacre – turmoil of unbelievable proportions…but the band plays on.  Mercifully, in virtually all incidents there are astounding fetes of bravery and heroism – of humanity beyond the call of duty – love overcoming hate and good overcoming evil…but ladies and gentlemen…is this not a wake-up call?  How many more do we have to hear...how much more pain and suffering do we have to endure?

Yes, I am keenly aware that I am walking on egg-shells because although “the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world” bespeaks of that unique gift of spiritual wealth – that “innate goodness” – that ability to love and be loved – to excel beyond the ordinary in reaching one’s full potential for the best we all can and should be…but the truth of the matter is, as Paul the Apostle discovered – “I know that in me, in my flesh, dwells no good thing!”  Indeed, and I know you may find this impossible to believe, and you’ve heard it before but we all need to hear it again:  “Amazing grace that saved a WRETCH like me…and there, but for the grace of God – go I!”

Listen – as much as there is potential for good – there is that awful thing that “filled the earth” during the days of Noah – AND DON’T THINK YOU’RE NOT CAPABLE of such evil!  No wonder then that the Good Book exclaims:  ABHOR that which is evil – cling to that which is good!

IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT

There is another “innate quest” going on inside humanity:  When is this THING going to end?  Yep, the band, R.E.M. in 1988 coined the song with the infamous last phrase attached to it:  AND I FEEL FINE!  How appropriate – it’s going down but take it easy mate – you can’t do nothin’ about it so ease up friend – join us…and feel as fine as we do.

Jesus’ disciples came to Him just before the crucifixion of Jesus.  I mean, if you knew the following:  “Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings (like, when will be the end of the world)…He said:  “You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified” (Matthew 26:1-2)….well, knowing that crucifixion awaited Jesus He starts talking about the “end of the world!” (Please read:  Matthew 24:3-44)

It must have been really important for the Christian Sacred Canon to include nearly two full chapters about Bible Prophecy and the “end of the world” – I mean, come on, wouldn’t it have been a whole lot more RELEVANT to talk about the more cheery prospects after resurrection?  Instead, let’s talk about when all hell breaks loose – lots of “gloom and doom” just before I come back!

Now, I know there’s a bunch of religio-prognosticators who look at these two chapters in Matthew’s gospel and tell us that:  “Forget it – that already happened – so don’t get into this stuff, it’s already fulfilled…blah…blah…blah…”  It’s like:

“This is the captain speaking, again, from my own life boat.  Rest assured…they say that drowning is one of the easiest ways to go…not sure myself…but, anyway, hope you’re as lucky as I was to fall into a raft or something – wow, that was a close one!”

Jesus didn’t mince words – you guys want to know when this “thing” is coming down – then I’ll tell you what you should expect….

If you just want to stick your head in the sand – go right ahead (incidentally, that’s NOT what went down in that theater – everyone moved into total action) – now’s no time to be foolin’ around and playin’ like this ain’t happening.  As my students used to say:  GET REAL!  Problem is, we’ve got enough junk on our plates and if we could get real what would we do about it in any event?  Lots, as far as Jesus was concerned…so this isn’t Nostradamus talking here – it’s the Man – listen up – Jesus also spoke of other calamities taking place in other gospels regarding the “end of the age” – the passing of the present world order…I’ll just give the blockbusters – and if you don’t notice them … well, it’s not because you can’t see them – maybe, just maybe, IT’S BECAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE THEM?  Now, stop being a “gloom and doom preacher” – just be a little less “REAL” and we’ll all live happily ever after…

The major passages spoken of by Jesus in what they call the “Olivet Discourse” start off real positive – like this:

“Take heed that no one deceives you!”  (Matthew 24:4) –

Now this “positive confession” announced by Jesus is hardly what you hear from the pulpit today.  It’s more like:  “Delete that negative thought!  Stop being so suspicious – love doesn’t perceive, it conceives – and other profoundly full of baloney type statements!  No, I’m not suggesting we go around being paranoid.  But when it comes to the “end of days” the attitude is:  Lighting arresters arise!

It’s a proven fact – as Dene points out in his latest article – WE THE SHEEPLE – are more than happy to be led around by the nose – 85% of folks are impressed with the last thing they saw or heard – persuasion is the name of the game and the elites – especially in the media – are great at it…that’s why they make the big bucks and that’s precisely why you and I keep paying them!

1.     Economic dislocation – that’s a biggie – in case you haven’t heard…when “nation will rise against nation” it’s usually over economics – witness the past century and even now.  We do a whole lot of fighting over money – and we’re getting very sophisticated at doing so.  Notwithstanding, Dene’s articles on the economy – as morose as they are – don’t seem to impress anyone … the band just keeps playing on – folks just keep spending and nations, states and cities keep bankrupting.  Out of control spending and entitlement societies, nations, communities have no intention of biting the bullet – we’ll just borrow more money!

What’s really happening “out there” is obvious to all – “the rich are getting filthy rich and the poor you always have with you” – those guys, the poor, have now gotten into (America and the West in general) this mentality that the government owes them a living somehow…and the programs in American, like “Welfare to Work” under Bill Clinton – have been discontinued because the “entitlement society” might actually find a job…now we wouldn’t want that to happen, would we?  Meanwhile, we expect the hard-working Germans who can’t retire until they’re around 67 to foot the bill for the Greeks who retire at 50.  I know I’m being general here with wide brush-strokes – BUT IT’S TIME TO YELL PANIC! 

FLASH:  July 23, 2012 – Moody’s puts Germany on notice of the downgrading of their AAA/Stable to Negative, along with the Netherlands and Luxembourg…it’s all over folks, it’s all over. 

So today – July 24, 2012, Spain hits the economic fan with gusto and it’s flyin’ everywhere – the stock markets around the world are sagging badly and the Spaniards – the nation too big to fail – are preparing to do just that (so much for Spain’s housing bubble – “pop goes the piñata”)…and the Germans are sick and tired of having to foot the bill – but now they’re really sick and tired!  Imagine, without firing a shot they finally have the opportunity to “winner take all” and, frankly, they could care less (this time around) – they should have kept Franco running his dictatorship – at least the streets were safe!

Meanwhile, back in Dodge City, we’ve got Paul Krugman telling us that the problem is/was we (the government) didn’t spend enough money to STIMULATE the moribund economy and that the only way to get out of this mess is to SPEND, SPEND, AND SPEND some more! 

So we Californians have this brilliant idea to build this $150+ billion dollar speed train to nowhere…and you’ve never seen countryside go by so fast in your life between Bakersfield and Madera (two places you’ve never heard of)…it’ll save you 45 minutes to nowhere; of course, you’ve got to realize that you’ll have to take the slow train when you get to L.A. and S.F. in any event to keep the locals happy.  But this will take years and years to build and that means the cost will be “off the chart” – but we’ve got to get them $3Billion front-loaded dollars from the Federal Government or we’ll lose it!  No biggie – we’re only $18 Billion in debt in our budget anyway (though it’s far worse than that) – so SPEND, SPEND, SPEND – and TAX, TAX TAX – the shepple just love it … like the Russians say:  “Amerika…such a country!”

2.     Worldwide political and social turmoil…

Here’s where VIOLENCE comes in…in case you haven’t heard – since 2006 we’ve lost 60,000 souls to the drug wars in Mexico…imagine that, of course, the US Justice Department supplied a pot load of weapons (pun intended), and then blamed the mess on the mom and pop gun stores for doing such an awful thing (of course, we sent the IRS agents in to show the gun stores how to “account” for these spurious cash sales to Mexican gangs). 

The Arab Spring has claimed tens of thousands – and much more blood is being spilt in Syria.  Need we go into the confusion that reigns with the coming collapse of the EU held together by one of the most flimsy of charters?  Unbelievable!  The United Nations is a veritable sham accomplishing the oversight of the latest fiasco in Syria – while, once again, the band plans on but this time it sounds like a bunch of Arab musicians doing a special for Whirling Dervishes doing a Sufi shuffle…and they just keep killing each other in Iraq…martyrdom is a huge hit during Ramadan…an instant ticket to heaven during the season if you perish!  It gets worse, far worse – the persecutions continue in the Sudan – if we started listing the political and social turmoil around the world we’d despair…Americans living in their bubbles have no idea….

3.     World-wide famines…statistics can even come close to what’s going on in the Sub-Sahara – the Horn of Africa – where do you wish to start?  And, in the breadbasket of the world, the American Midwest, the worst drought since the ‘30s and getting worse, far worse.  Americans – food and fuel prices are about to go through the roof – it’s time to go on another cruise!

4.     World-wide epidemics…75,000,000 perished worldwide during the Spanish Flu epidemic in 1918 – since 1981 some 30,000,000 (CNN) have perished from HIV-AIDS and counting! Meanwhile governments keep brewing silent radiation fallout contaminating millions – spreading cancers beyond belief – isn’t progress wonderful?  Population control “experts” are having a field day – and never, never, never forget - 42,000,000 abortions per YEAR!  Go figure, in 20 years we’ve managed to eliminated, murder, mutilate nearly a billion souls!  YOU HAVE SOWN THE WIND – YOU SHALL REAP THE WHIRLWIND!

5.     Natural disasters…and don’t tell me we’ve always had earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, floods, hail, wind catastrophes – sure we have, but nothing like this – read and weep:  “There have been 440 catastrophic natural events worldwide this year. Only once--in 2007--has that number been exceeded in the first half of any year. Is climate change to blame?  And, 2011 was the most costly year for world catastrophes ever!

6.     Proliferation of False Messianic Figures…Astounding – Oprah releases John of God and now this fellow Wayne Dyer tells all of us we should do precisely what Jesus did and proclaim:  I AM GOD!  Good grief, Scotty, the “third most spiritual man in the world” is racking it in on Public Television by spouting off I AM THAT I AM!  And – thousands of sheeple are drawn into his net like there is no tomorrow.   Why have a few good Messiahs when everyone can get in on the act – in a phrase:  WE’RE OUT OF CONTROL!  We used to play cops and robbers – now we play god – but in between we played video games and that prepared us for our godhood!

7.     Abounding immorality on a world-wide scale…Sex sells and large corporations (unbeknown to the general public) are making billions off the lust of the flesh, eyes and the pride of life.  Slaves anyone?  Two-million women and children are sold into the sex-slave trade every year. Pornography is off the chart – hundreds of billions are made off the “trade” every year…and don’t tell me it’s not hurting anyone – BALONEY!  Pron profits – though still in the billions – have dropped nearly 50% since anyone and everyone gets it on the internet or can make their own – so, nothing is forever.  But we can always redefine marriage or go into collective bargaining soon with multiple wives and husbands or engage in trade wars – and since we’re allegedly not harming anyone except traditional marriage, who cares, right?  After all, it’s the culture stupid!  You want a recipe for disaster – here’s one:  Fifty (50%) per-cent of all babies born in America are born out of wedlock to women under the age of 30 and it’s getting worse, much worse.  Takes a village, right?  We’ll just let the government handle it…after all, they’ve done such a great job encouraging marriage – and who cares about prayer in the schools – we’ll just do that “prayer thing” when we have the next massacre or 9/11 attack…alternative life-styles is not only the wave of the future – it’s the tsunami ready to destroy the hopes and aspirations of a generation!

8.     Israel a Pariah Nation…Occasionally I receive some of the worst hate mail imaginable – usually it has to do with me being an alleged “Jew-lover.”  I confess, I’m guilty – actually, I’d like to think I love everyone indiscriminately.  But, man, oh man, when someone sends me hate mail it really goes off the chart when it comes to the Jews.  Think about it?  How could less than 20 million people in a world filled with nearly 7 billion people be so freaked out over such a minority?  And I mean its deep-seated hatred.  But there she is – that little sliver of a nation state on the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Who’s causing the trouble in the Middle East?  Israel, of course.  Who caused the trouble in Europe before the Holocaust?  The Jews, of course.  Two-thousand years of causing problems.  It’s very chic to trumpet human rights and blame Israel for apartheid.  After all, Anglican Bishop Desmond Tutu can do it – so why not all of us?  The Bible speaks of a latter days’ Israel who will become a “cup of trembling” (actually means “poison” as in getting the shakes) to all the “nations round about”.  And, sure enough, all the nations “round about” are doing just that – now Egypt’s getting back into the act.  So the operative question is:  When is the American President Obama going to tell the Israelis where to get off?  Something doesn’t ring true when we hear someone say: “I’ve got your back?” 

9.     Christians Marginalized and faithful Christians separating from unfaithful Christians – the demise of the Lukewarm Church

Not a pleasant topic to discuss.  But have you noticed that the number of Christians around the world seems to be increasing in nations (like China and continents like Africa) while the number of ardent believers continues to descend in Europe and in North America – although in North America it’s more of a lukewarm phenomena – neither hot nor cold…having need of nothing (Revelation 3).  The number of people in America identifying themselves as Christian has held pretty steady over the years around 86% but the number of folks not attending an organized church has soared – has “churchianity” peaked?  It appears that way.  People giving up on “five songs and a sermon” have had it with those who “merchandise the Word of God” and the apparent abundance of immorality in the Church – our shame is well known among the worldlings who laugh us to scorn on that one.

Notwithstanding, Christians who take their faith seriously have a much lower divorce rate than their non-Christian counterparts – and you’re hearing that from someone who used to believe that we had the same disintegration of the family going on – we don’t, plain and simple – but overall, whatever immorality that happens in and to the Church is big news around the block because we’re supposed to be a sanctified bunch – well, welcome to “sinners paradise!”

In China the Communist bosses are becoming more favorable to Christians because they seem to have adopted a strong Protestant work ethic – something lost in Europe and something were losing in America and elsewhere in the West.  Notwithstanding, the persecution of Christians on a world-wide basis is stunning: 

In more than 40 nations around the world today Christians are being persecuted for their faith. In some of these nations it is illegal to own a Bible, to share your faith Christ, change your faith or teach your children about Jesus. Those who boldly follow Christ—in spite of government edict or radical opposition—can face harassment, arrest, torture and even death. Yet Christians continue to meet for worship and to witness for Christ, and the church in restricted nations is growing.

10.                                      End-time Revival…At last – and in spite of all the aforesaid “negativity” – and we really cannot call this a harbinger, it is likewise prophesied that an incredible and miraculous revival will “sweep the continents” – especially, the Moslem world…now that’s hard to believe that it is so prophesied.  It’s the old adage:  Where sin abounds, grace shall much more abound!  A multitude of Sacred Text indicates such an end-times’ revival up until the “end of the world” as we know it:

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands . . . ‘Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?’  ‘These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 7:9, 13-14).

Yes, a lot of it will be due to persecution – but isn’t it the “blood of the martyrs that is the seed of the Church?”

The 7 Static Harbingers are…

The dynamic harbingers are ever-increasing – the 7 static harbingers are eventful – and signal the “signs of the time” and of the Second Coming of Messiah.  Time and space do not permit an elaborate declaration here – we’re too much into sound bites.  However – and at a later date – we will go more into detail as to why and where these 7 major events prior to the final Week of human history are considered the 7 major signs of the final Week of Daniel’s Prophecy – the last seven-years.

1.     World War I

2.     The Balfour Declaration

3.     World War II

4.     The Establishment of the State of Israel

5.     The 1967 War and Israel’s Retaking of Jerusalem

6.     The “End of the War” – the Arab-Israeli Conflict – the Oracle of Damascus\

7.     The Formalization of the Israeli-Western Defense Pact

The list above is by no means comprehensive – it’s not meant to be – however, it does delineate the major “static harbingers” – some past, some immediate, and some into the immediate future.

I find it utterly incomprehensible that ardent Christians – most living in the comfort of their own homes in the West – have the notion that everything’s on the improve…that somehow the kingdom of God is advancing to such an extent that the glorious Church without spot or wrinkle will someday “take over” – whatever that bizarre phrase means. 

Well, figure this one out and tell me if it’s been fulfilled:

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24:37). 

Don’t tell me it was business as usual – sure, “marrying and given in marriage” was going on as if nothing changed – but something was different, very different…VIOLENCE filled the earth and God Almighty had had it up to here!

One of the pastors who prayed at the Aurora Memorial said:  “The Kingdom suffers violence and the violent take it by force!”   Did you get that?  Everyone at that memorial knew of the violence that place in that theater…yet, the pastor had the audacity to quote this most misunderstood portion of Holy Writ. 

Here’s what he meant and what it truly means:  We’re not going to see change we can believe in unless and until God’s people get serious about their faith – the extremity of Jesus’ remark was meant to shake us up – this pussy-footin’ around doesn’t make it.  Either share our faith and thereby make a difference or keep your mouth shut and just get on with the course of this world – the current’s pretty strong out there – how’s it workin’ for you?  As violent as evil can be – we need for the Kingdom of God to be as bold and uncompromised in our faith.  If there ever were a time of putting your faith on the line – giving friends and relatives – strangers and brethren – hope and encouragement through the Savior…now is the time, if there ever were such a time…that time is NOW!
