We recognize your sacrifice and service. Do you get weary of the politics, the problems and the pressure? Do you wonder if there is a better way. This website is for those pastors who realize that they may have not been doing the job they should to equip the saints for the trying times ahead and in the event that they are no longer there for whatever reason. It is also for those who realize that we are in the last days and the future may not be business as usual. Such an extraordinary time may call for the saints in your congregation to be able to stand completely on their own without your professional help. Can they do it? Will they make it?
I will admit right up
front that I am very critical of our present pastoral system. God wants a
body of believers where everyone functions in a meaningful way. In fact this
may be your dream. One day while driving to work, I was listening to Jack
Hayford on the radio and he was saying that 30 years ago as a young pastor he
had a dream of working himself out of a job, but then went on to laugh and
said, "but I'm still here, aren't I?" I want to be very clear on two things.
I don't question your integrity, sincerity or desire to follow the Lord. Nor
do I condone the laziness and lack of commitment of the laity. I know you
wish your members would all get off their duffs and be more involved. But the
situation is serious and now is the time to end the one man show!
It is our contention here
at Tribnet that, if we are in the "last days", prophetic events may soon
overtake us, especially as we see events unfolding in the Middle East. When
they do, who knows how long the average pastor is going to be able to maintain
his integrity and take a prophetic stand for against what is really
happening? If you have been around observing the church the past 50 years as
I have, you can only come to the conclusion that Christians are lukewarm and
the institution is falling away from sound Biblical truth. Congregants are
demanding pastors that will "itch their ears" and in a nice "touchy feely" way
tell them what they want to hear - how to keep home and hearth together, make
more money and have the good life along with their eternal life.
You may also hold dear to such doctrines as the pre-trib rapture, but what if you're wrong? If you're not planning on being here during the tribulation and the Treaty of Hell and Death is signed with Israel, then what will you do? Again, it is our contention that now is the time for preparation. The saints need to be set free from the system, the Sunday morning worship service, the programs and all and discover the "body life" - a life of spontaneous meeting and sharing and living together - not "going to church" but "being the church." (Please see our book on Apostasy and Deception)
So please give us a chance. We believe, and I think you would agree, we are entering the most exciting and wonderful period of history prior to the return of our Lord. The saints need to be ready to suffer the loss of all things including their lives, but all for a glorious reward. This is not an attractive message to the average "Sunday go to meetin'" lukewarm Christian. In fact, if you were to really start preaching the truth, you may find yourself looking for a job. So jump off your pedestal and get to work to equip the saints to touch the Lord, to function in a meaningful ministry, and share the living relationship with Christ. Whether the clergy/laity system and the Sunday morning performance is good, bad or indifferent, it is a model that will certainly fail during the Tribulation so the time to phase it out and get ready for what is coming is now.
